The streets of Taclóban City in Leyte were in chaos Saturday as several residents began looting grocery stores and breaking into shops for food and other basic items they needed to survive in the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda.Video footage recorded by the team of GMA News correspondent Jiggy Manícad showed several men breaking into what appeared to be the storage area of a grocery store in the city and grabbing as much bread and softdrinks bottles as they can get.Manicad said some residents have even resorted to forcibly entering fast food shops and destroying ATMs to get food and cash.Click here for the rest of this news article. what right are you talking about when these people try to take advantage of what happened to them in a wrong way? This isn’t something that should be taken of for granted! this isn’t right and yo know that. Survival isn’t about stealing and taking advantage of other people’s weaknesses; it is about teamwork amid chaos, working hand in hand through every obstacle and putting everything to God’s hands. how can a country survive if it all depends on other people? how can a small community survive by doing all these? 😦

It is very unfortunate that this is happening. It would seem understandable, at the very least, if people are looting for food, water or clothes. These are basic necessities to survive. But for people to ransack malls and take appliances and other items does not make sense.
In the end, their actions may boomerang at them. Malls and supermarket, which will eventually provide them with goods and even jobs they need may eventually close shop.
